The Stone Mountain Process ~
TIME FRAME
Granite projects can usually be installed with 7 to 10 days from the time the granite is available and measurements have been made. Many selections of granite are stocked and readily available but occasionally your selection may require a wait time. The actual installation in your home or business routinely occurs in one day.
MEASURING AND TEMPLATE CREATION
After choosing your materials, we will schedule an appointment to view the job and take measurements and make templates. There is no charge for this service. Someone who can make decisions and authorize project details must be present. At this time we usually discuss the edge selection and choices of faucets and sinks.
All appliances should be in place at the time measurements are taken as well as all base cabinets. We are not responsible for moving appliances, furniture or personal items. (we are not responsible for damages).
INSTALLATION DAY
The installation of new counter-tops require the removal of the old. We will tear out and dispose any existing counter-tops. Sometimes the new granites surface will not cover small, unfinished areas on the counters that were previously covered by the old counter-tops. We do not refinish or paint these areas. That is your responsibility.
On the day of installation, please remove items from existing lower cabinets. This will protect your personal items and make clean-up easier. While we perform all fabrication in our shop to minimize the mess in your home or business, items such as under-mount sinks must be done in the home and cause some dust. Sometimes it is also necessary to drill the faucet holes after the granite is installed.
SEAMS
Stone Mountain strives to create the most invisible seams possible. We will consult the customer on seam placement, however due to the impact of structural integrity, the final decision is up to Stone Mountain and its fabricators.
ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING & GAS
Although we will disconnect your old sink when doing the tear out, be prepared to hire a plumber and/or electrician to reconnect your new faucet and other appliances. Oklahoma law requires licensed plumbers and electricians to perform that work. DO NOT allow any granite company to perform those tasks for you.
